Leadership Learning and Action Network

Effective health care quality improvement (QI) requires the commitment and engagement of hospital leadership. The Partnership to Advance Tribal Health (PATH) aims to support Indian Health Service (IHS) hospital leadership in their QI efforts through a Leadership Learning and Action Network (LAN) to share results, successes and barriers to QI. Participants in the Leadership LAN (hospital CEOs, directors of nursing, clinical, medical, quality improvement and other senior staff from Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services-certified, IHS-managed hospitals) will have the opportunity for professional development, expansive networking and an exposure to cutting-edge quality improvement strategies. The PATH team will facilitate on-site and virtual meetings to accomplish Leadership LAN goals and expected outcomes.

Goals and Expected Outcomes (including, but not limited to)

  1. Cross hospital learning and support on key issues affecting quality
  2. Active participation in sharing best practices, lessons learned and engaging discussion
  3. Enhanced capabilities for hospital management and QI support
  4. Processes improved with administrative, financial and clinical system impacts to become a higher performing organization with improved patient outcomes
  5. Engagement with other senior leadership across IHS and a platform to share concerns, opportunities, barriers and successes
