NQF Eisenberg Award Recognizes Mayo Clinic CAUTI Reduction
The National Quality Forum (NQF) presented its 2015 John M. Eisenberg Patient Safety and Quality Award for Innovation in Patient Safety and Quality at the Local Level to Mayo Clinic-Rochester, for its work to reduce catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTIs). The CAUTI prevention initiative at Mayo Clinic-Rochester reduced CAUTIs by 70 percent hospitalwide. In the medical intensive care unit, CAUTIs dropped to zero and remained at zero through 2015.
