Hospital Frontline Staff Help Save Hospital $4.5 Million While Improving Care

Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston is using ideas from frontline staff to reduce waste and redesign health care delivery, and so far, have been rewarded with $4.5 million in savings and improvements in integrated care and care transitions, according to Fierce Healthcare. So far, 160 ideas have been developed into 25 pilot programs that led to the cost savings, with projects targeting cancer treatments, obstetrics, traumatic brain injury care and chronic illnesses.
