Breaking the Chain: International Infection Prevention Week, Oct. 16-22

infection prevention This year's observance of International Infection Prevention Week has the theme of "Breaking the Chain of Infection." To help spread the message about how health care professionals and the public can prevent infections in health care and in the community at large, the Association for Professionals in Infection Prevention and Epidemiology (APIC) has developed a free promotional toolkit, podcasts, and other useful information. Download materials online from the APIC website.

In our era, infection is an international issue. For a global perspective on infection prevention, join APIC and the Centers for Disease Prevention and Control *CDC) on October 18 for a free webinar, "Preventing the Next Avoidable Catastrophe in Low and Middle Resource Countries,"  with the CDC's Benjamin Park, MD, Chief, International Infection Control Program, Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion. Click here to register for the APIC/CDC webinar.
