Executive Director Appointed to LCF Research Board of Directors

Wm. Boyd Kleefisch, FACHE, FAAMA, executive director of HealthInsight New Mexico, was recently appointed to the LCF Research board of directors. Formerly known as the Lovelace Clinic Foundation, LCF Research has broadened its focus to support community-based improvements in health and health care. LCF Research is guiding the formation of a statewide electronic health information exchange. It is governed by a broad-based board comprised of health care providers and leaders, as well as community members.

Kleefisch has been executive director for HealthInsight New Mexico since December 2011, and he served as chief operating officer since 2003. He is a board certified health care executive with 35 years of experience. As a career health care administrator, he has assumed progressive responsibility in medical services management, finance, information technology, manpower/staffing, personnel, education, quality improvement, and recruiting in a variety of organizations including Lovelace Health Systems in Albuquerque, Hawaii Health Systems Corporation Maui Region, and many military facilities during his 24 years of service in the United States Air Force. Kleefisch is an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and he is on the board of directors of the New Mexico Healthcare Managers Forum. He earned his Master of Science degree in management from Troy State University.

HealthInsight New Mexico is a not-for-profit, physician-sponsored organization and serves as New Mexico’s federally contracted Medicare Quality Improvement Organization and External Quality Review Organization for Medicaid. The organization works with health care providers, consumers and health care organizations, and state and federal agencies to improve the quality of health care in New Mexico.

LCF Research was established in 1990 as a not-for-profit organization to foster health services research among physicians, hospitals and government agencies and to provide continuing professional education for health professionals. LCF Research continues to focus on applied health care research and translating research into practice to improve the health of patients and the delivery of quality of health care.
