Utah Home Health Agencies Announced for the 2013 HealthInsight Quality AwardHealthInsight Program Encourages Excellence in Patient Care
Salt Lake City, December 11, 2013 — Today, HealthInsight, a private, non-profit, community-based organization dedicated to improving health and health care in Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah, presented the 2013 HealthInsight Quality Award to seventeen home health agencies from across the state.
HealthInsight Quality Award recipients are selected for; completing a quality improvement project, and demonstrating high quality health care and excellence in performance on publicly reported quality of care measures and other specified quality markers. These measures come from data that are voluntarily reported by home health agencies across the nation. The national home health rankings used to select recipients are available by visiting healthinsight.org.
"We are honored to commend these outstanding home health agencies that exemplify the improvement of health care quality and outcomes for the residents of our state," said Marc Bennett, HealthInsight President and CEO. "Their commitment to excellence in health care delivery is evidenced by their achievement of this award."
The award recipients will be recognized at the Utah Association for Home Care Holiday Award Luncheon at Le Jardin in Sandy, Utah.

The HealthInsight Quality Award program was launched in September 2004 to promote transparency in health care. According to the Institute of Medicine, transparency in health care is defined as a system that is "accountable to the public, works openly, makes results known, and builds trust through disclosure." By using available quality data to identify high performing providers and publicizing the results, HealthInsight aims to help providers improve health care and help patients become more active and informed participants in that care.
